More than 4000 attendees visited the Nutanix .NEXT Conference on October 9th and 10th in Copenhagen (Denmark)!

On the first day, I attended many technical sessions in which various Nutanix (Enterprise) products were demonstrated. My key highlights are:

    • X-Ray
      • A free (!) product used to evaluate an Enterprise (HCI) environment by various load test scenarios
    • Xi Leap
      • Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) with one-click failover functionality towards a choice a public cloud platforms
    • Xi Frame
      • Desktop as a Service (DaaS), which recently also became available on the Google Cloud Platform

At the end of the day, everyone got transported over to another location. Or rather venue because we were going to party with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike!

The venue was a true wonderland where everyone could enjoy delicious and healthy food and drinks, great music, socializing and dancing.

The second day started with another keynote session hosted by Monica Kumar (Nutanix SVP, Product & Solutions Marketing). This keynote emphasized once more the direction of Nutanix: “One Platform. Any App. Any Location.”

During this keynote, Caroline Wozniacki made an appearance talking about her journey to become the no. 1 tennis player of the world! Inspirational!

After the keynote, I attended various other technical sessions including:

    • Nutanix API’s for Orchestration & Automation
    • HPE Greenlake Partnership with Nutanix

Besides attending the many sessions, I had the great and unexpected pleasure to meet the Nutanix CEO Dheeraj Pandey! He is a very approachable down to earth person and took time to meet me and pose for a quick photo. Thank you, Dheeraj! 🙂

In the closing keynote session, we got the privilege to listen to stories from Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) and Dr. Katie Bouman (MIT). These people have achieved great things with their drive and continued hard work. The same as with Caroline Wozniacki’s interview; Inspirational!!

After the closing keynote, the Nutanix .NEXT Conference 2019 came to an end. As a first time attendee, I was not really sure what I could expect apart from hearing a few stories from my colleagues. Well, I can now confirm that .NEXT is not just another IT Conference. No, it is a global gathering of like-minded people all looking in the same direction of today’s multi-cloud world. The era of infinite computing!

I hope to see you in Paris (France) on October 13th to 16th for the Nutanix .NEXT Conference 2020!
